JOKE PARTY and Soho Theatre run! | January 19th, 2010
Firstly, TATW are part of a new monthly night called JOKE PARTY, at the Wilmington Arms (near Angel/Farringdon), on the first Tuesday of every month, starting February 2nd. It's a veritable dream line up, all doing their own thang plus uniting for some very special collaborative sketches: William Andrews For more info, or to buy tickets, go here. And, hey!, our Soho Theatre run has also been confirmed! Very exciting. It's going to be all our greatest hits, plus some brand new material, interspersed with video and stuff. Four nights, March 3 + 4 @ 8pm, and March 5 + 6 @ 9:45pm - we'd really love you to be there, so do book tickets or learn more here. In other news, we're still working on our sketch show pilot for the RDF Comedy Unit, plus our Radio 4 pilot, so full-TATW ahead! Hope to see some of you at a gig soon. Ed xx |
Edinburgh-bound | August 2nd, 2009
The Fringe - and Wonderbang - are upon us. For all Edinburgh-related TATW news and info, please head this way. Much obliged. |
Withnail, Latitude and Edinburgh! | May 20th, 2009
Tom is trapped behind some bric-a-brac so I thought I would chip in with a bit of TATW news. Unlike my pencil-chested colleague's attempts, it will be clear, concise and orderly, then we can all get on with some leisurely blonding, eh gentlemen? TATW meet Withnail and I: The most imminent exciting news concerns our special cinema gig. On Friday 19th June, Tom and I will perform a 40 minute live set on the stage of the Screen on the Green cinema on Upper Street in Islington. There'll also be some specially filmed TATW sketches projected on the big screen behind us. Then we'll get the hell out of the way, and we'll all watch Withnail and I in glorious cinemascope. Chucking back booze like overexcited students, no doubt. Sounds pretty amazing huh? Book early. More details here. Latitude: Tommy and the Weeks are booked to play Latitude Festival in Suffolk, on Sunday 19th July. We will be on stage at 11am in the Cabaret Arena. That's right, 11am. At a music festival. Tommy and the Weeks: the perfect accompaniment to some early morning, outdoor drug-taking. Edinburgh: The show is called Wonderbang. The slot is 5:10pm at the Pleasance Beside, 3rd - 31st August. More news as it's released by the government. That's it. Thanks though! |
Scottish tour | April 13th, 2009
Yes! Ed and I are just back from our annual mission to defy time itself by moving it forward a full, God's hour. It wasn't easy, but nothing worth doing ever is. (Although be warned, some things can be hard but still not worth doing, e.g. juggling, Rubik's cubes.) Well, Ed has retired to his incubation chamber to recuperate, whilst he does that, let me throw some TATW news at you. Catch! |
Being funny or killed, plus Not Going Out | February 19th, 2009
Friends of TATW, hello. Thanks to everyone who's checked out the site so far and for all the good feedback. Ed would just like to make it known that he did all the coding so if people could stop congratulating me on that he would be happier. Our Trees sketch has also made it onto the 'Best of the Week' section of www.funnyordie.co.uk which is great! (Direct link.) But also slightly weird because people have the option of voting for it as either "funny" or "die" which seems a bit harsh. Ed and I are now checking it regularly and feel a deep pain whenever a person, a real human being, has watched our sketch and thinks it, and presumably us, should ACTUALLY DIE. I mean, you have to literally click on the word DIE. I think "not my cup of tea" would have sufficed but still. |
Well Tom, such are the brutal drops of technolemon we seem doomed to keep adding to our milk of human kindness. |
That's true about milk I suppose. Hey Ed, I'm Not Going Out this Friday evening, any tips for something to do? |
Funny you should phrase it in that way, Tom, because tomorrow (Friday) night I can actually be seen in a TV show called 'Not Going Out', at 9:30pm on BBC1. It is Lee Mack's hugely funny studio sitcom, and (against type) I will be playing an unscrupulous lothario. Look! There I am! |

Whereas this Saturday I can be seen working at a Blockbusters store in Basildon where I will be trying to demo Playstation 3 games to disinterested and slightly scary teenagers for not really much money at all. |
All's fair in love and TATW! |
Website launch | February 7th, 2009
Hey Chester, slow down! You've got your hands on a first edition of the highly prized Tommy and the Weeks website. You're going to enjoy reading that! A book metaphor there, kicking us off, and if this really were a book, it would smell great! But books are no way to appeal to anyone these days (only 4 get read a year) so we made a website didn't we though. Once you have prepared yourselves emotionally, have a browse, don't be afraid to cry and drop us a line with feedback or specifically to offer us paid work. (Offer us paid work.) Just be careful not to crease the spine! (A return to the book metaphor to end things.) |

Happy 2010! Sorry we've been a bit quiet of late, but lots of exciting news to fill you in on.
